I was dismissed at work because an abusive customer had alleged that I was being rude to him. However, my line manager used this incident as a smokescreen to get rid of me because he didn't like me. This was one of many in a long line of incidents where I was continually bullied, victimized and singled out for unfair treatment at the hands of my former manager. Moreover, I was unable to start a new job because my former employer had stated in the reference that I was dismissed, which I consider to be unfair. I have appealed against this decision and am awaiting a decision soon by the area manager. How much compensation am I entitled to and what would my options be should my dismissal get upheld? I am willing to take this matter to court. I don't think that I can go to a tribunal because I was at my workplace for less than 2 years.
