This is the original problem from an employee...
I work for a school district in Michigan. While checking my last pay stub I noticed I was missing 4 days of my vacation time from what was listed on my previous stub.
Our human resources dept. consists of one lady who is very hard to talk to in the first place. I asked her why my vacation time was removed and she said she had given me too much to begin with. This time was given to me in June 2007 and she took it away from me on Jan 1st 2008. For that whole length of time I was under the impression I had much more vacation time. I took vacation over that period of time that I wouldn't have if I had known my actual balance. She never even notified me about the problem when she found it. I was left to find it for myself. Well I have contacted the assistant superintendent and his excuse was that everybody makes mistakes. The biggest problem is that I'm still coming up with completely different numbers than this lady for what my vacation time should currently be. Is there anything I can do about this? Your help is greatly appreciated!
