This is the problem the employee is having:

I have experienced bullying, and workplace violence from the second day of work. I have been hit by objects, unreasonably criticized for not knowing my position without any training. I am repeatedly assigned cleaning and all dirty jobs seem to be my duties. I have reported the bullying twice to my Supervisor, however the consequences are retaliation, and refusing to train me in my positions. The consequences for my coworkers are continually working in a short staff situation, requiring us to complete several positions at the same time. The verbal abuse includes name calling, and preventing proper training for various positions. Management is aware of the chronic staff shortage however they ignore the fact that the hostile environment is extreme and needs immediate attention to prevent the loss of more employees. I have become severely ill, and missing work. I have reported the violent incidents to my doctor, who suggests I look for other work. I do not know why management is ignoring the signs such as new employees lasting an average of a week. I am looking at reporting to the main contractor mediation department, but should I quit first? I am educated, in law enforcement, conflict resolution, communication, and worked with victims of violence. I am well aware of Human Rights, and the Labor Laws. I have concerns for my physical safety if I report the incidents of violence to the authorities. Most of my coworkers seem to have convinced themselves that a workplace like ours is normal, and are afraid of retaliation if they stand up as witnesses. The incidents are so obvious that everyone has become apathetic and look the other way, fearing that they will be next, and unfortunately because of the lack of supervision that is reality. What do I do?
