  This is the problem the employee is having:  
 
 
 
I believe my boyfriend is a victim of workplace bullying for the past six months. We live in Canada. Unfortunately, we do not live in Quebec. I am very upset at this point because I feel like the only people who are protecting him at work is his union. Any of the company’s management involved in this matter has not taken my boyfriend’s claim of harassment & bullying seriously. Instead they have brushed this off as an exaggerated interpretation of a tough boss who gets results. They also told me in this supervisor’s defense, if he did cross the line it was because my boyfriend had bad work ethics. Instead of addressing the bullying accusations, they were going to educate him on how to handle employees like my boyfriend. I feel like they believe the bullying can be justified by poor work ethic. If anything at all, that accusation could be a result of this bullying. In spite of that possibility, my boyfriend maintains he has continued to have a good work ethic and that these claims are completely false. I believe the union is the only reason he hasn’t been fired.


I feel like my boyfriend is going to be punished for speaking up against his supervisor and his supervisor will be unpunished because of a technicality in the company's policy. I worry that his company is not recognizing workplace bullying as a form of personal harassment and policies are getting in the way of what is right & wrong. I feel like I have every right to be involved because it is affecting my family & our livelihood. I have even approached the company with my own letter to 'back' my boyfriend's claim. We have exhausted all avenues to get resolution (that we have thought of) and I am looking for help, direction or any ideas anyone may have.
