I have worked as a machine operator for this manufacturing company for over 5 years now and it's amazing how no one and I mean no one has figured out what is going on until they promised to get a harassment committee going that should have been implemented 2 years ago,,so I started doing some research on the subject and I was totally shocked to finally have a name for what has been going on in my company... between harassment and bullying, it rampant in this company by both management and employees. There is so much stress on the floor that you can feel it emanating from the people. I have been on the receiving end of both and see it and hear of it from people as well but no one will do anything because they are so afraid of retaliation or even loss of employment.
We are in a small town with no other jobs of this wage to turn to so everyone just takes it. I want to be able to make it so that we all don't feel like this but to go to management is useless because they themselves are the perpetrators. We have a union but even the union chairperson is useless. What can I do? |
