I am a lab technician doing medical research in a university setting. Our department has been downsized due to decrease in funding. I was happy I was able to keep my job when everyone else either quit or was laid off. Now I realize, they expect me to continue doing the work of the people who left. I neither have the time, or the training do these other jobs, some of which were done by healthcare professionals. I am now expected to run an entire diagnostic and research lab by myself and coordinate several clinical research projects. These jobs were done at one time by FIVE people. It is now expected that I do them all. I have searched for another job for 6 months and have not found anything. I am wondering, is finding a new job MY ONLY OPTION? |
