Two employees, one male, one female (pregnant) and both married (not to each other), are friendly toward each other but no obvious signs of romantic involvement.
Male's wife suspects an affair between the two. The female employee advises HR she has been receiving threats from the male employee's spouse. She is advised to seek legal advice and police assistance if she believes the threats to be valid.
Two days later, female employee is attacked by male employee's spouse. Attack took place outside of working hours and not on or near the companies property. Female suffered miscarriage due to the attack.
Outside of the obvious current legal and police involvement dealing with the attacker and the victim, is there anything more the Company should have done differently? |
