This is the original problem from an employee... |
My line manager in West Scotland is a intimidating bully not just to me but to others including office staff, About 5 of us have been at the end of his harassment tactics but don't really know what to do, as his brother is construction director, I don't want to go into to much detail just now, but I have contacted safe call,to see if they can help as well with advice or some kind of answer. Yours anon. |

| Since you have not really provided any details into the type of bullying, then it is hard to give you any advice. Be sure to document everything, and get other people on your side.

| There is strength in numbers. If you see someone being bullied, or it is you, stand beside each other. Have everyone document and send a letter (with all signatures) to his superior. Include the cost (loss) to his business due to "lack of focus, productivity, sickness, increased risk of injury, and so on. Convince the 'superiors' that it is in their best interest to address this person. Other option, file a complaint to your labour relations and/or union if applicable. Never meet or address this alone. Find another job. What is the legislation in your area? Human Rights etc? Become informed, increase your supports, take care of yourself!
